Conference participants must be dues-paying members. Concerned scholars from five continents and 17 countries gathered to discuss the state of Asian studies in Africa as well as to identify a way forward, and thus A-ASIA was born.
With over 6,500 members worldwide, representing all the regions and countries of Asia and all academic disciplines across the humanities and social sciences, the AAS is the largest organization of its kind.
