Don't get me wrong about DIY folks but when you get into areas like measuring gas pressure, a professional is best to hire. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Is this is a common problem?? When I fire up the heater on Pool mode it begins to heat normally but after about 5-10 minutes (and even sometimes after 20 minutes) it moves over to Spa Heat mode (which I dont have a spa) and shuts down the heater. Any additional thoughts? I would presume the main PCB is dead. Is there a common thread between the times it does/doesnt work? Ensure thepump basket and lid are in good conditions. ps0303 - how about opening up an Ohio branch?
All connections have been tested by an electrician with no issues also. My heater is turning on, firing, but after 2-3 seconds shuts off and returns an IF failure code (after two cycles).
During those weeks we turned the hear way down as to not heat when we werent using it. Heat pump will not run as LED panel says no water flow. I had to purchase a new display board and cover (the part that we see). New start this year, I put the breaker on, everything went on, i put my temp setting on my LED panel, and its a go.
My MasterTemp 400 fails to work intermittently. You are using an out of date browser. LO Water Pressure Switch, Vent Pressure Switch, or Temperature Limit Switch Fault. Going back to my original post I was asking if there was anything else I should look at before replacing the ICB since that was another significant cost for the neighbor. Ensure that the thermostat is set to a higher temperature than the current water temperature.
Everyone who can afford a tub seems to want to try one, as they look very appealing in the commercials. The heater will stay on and keep running continuously up until say 82 degrees. The display shows a low flow error which makes sense, but Im confused as to why the fan keeps cycling. Were you able to troubleshoot the problem?? It calls for heat, heat starts for maybe 5-10 seconds, then stops, temp raises rapidly to 124 then slowly back down to 75 and cycles again doing the same thing over and over again. The black knob on the gas valve will have three positions; OFF, PILOT, & ON. The pilot generator may be bad and not able to get hot enough to supply sufficient voltage to operate the heater. It doesnt sound like you have enough water flow. You may recall my earlier comment re: terrible pool service in this area. For operation, heaters require a minimum GPM flow.

Turned the heater on, then the A/C the next day, then then the heater again and then the A/C again, such is "winter" in Houston. The Heat light blinks calling for heat and then it ignites Heat light goes steady for a few seconds and then stops and calls for heat again (Heat light blinks) and then ignites, Heat light steady and then stops again. Is the heater hooked up to an automated control or is it standalone?
I don't have the tools to check for gas leaks (other than soapy water) or much less, check for pressure.
There is the ick factor of who else has used it, and whether or not it has been properly maintained. I clean the filter. Do you think a new thermal regulator might be the answer?
Make sure the pilot tube is intact and not clogged. Again, I thank you for your responses. This heater (Hayward H400FDN) would light and then shut down after a couple of seconds. Days later, theyre suddenly working again. Check the Thermal regulator. 1st one is the initial issue. Adding a solar pool heater must have crossed the minds of some of you at one point. The same thing is happening to me. My previous heater lasted 20 years. Right now I suspect that the low-voltage transformer may be defective, but Im curious if anyone else has seen these symptoms. No code is present. Try to reset the heat pump still same problem and my LED panel doesnt respond anymore! The other possibility is that there were some leaves on top of the heater exchanger. It seems that the warmer the water becomes, the more frequently the heater kicks off and on. What happened to him??

One possibility for the problem is that I had replaced a small section of the gas line at the meter. I connected my old termistor and got a reading of 85 degrees. Im going to work on this some more tomorrow. Increasing pressure goes hand in hand with the decrease of water flow.
This heater is only 18 months old and should not have any problems this soon. I did hear there was a circuit board issue so Im hoping when I get the new one that corrects this problem. That was my problem anyway. Do you have a flowmeter? Seems strange to me as nothing has changed since the new heater was installed 2 years ago and it has worked fine up until a few weeks ago. Raypak Classic Series Heat Pump 140,000 BTU 016033. This manually opens the pilot diaphragm and sends gas to the pilot assembly. This is very common after a period of non-use. If thepressure sensor, thermal regulator, or high limit switch is faulty, corroded, or defective- replace it. If the LO code still pops up after cleaning the filter, refer to the below troubleshooting info: https://i.imgur.com/ST4j2WL.jpg The igniter has a bit of carbon build up but came off with my finger. Regardless, the FIRST thing to do is what Steve and the Hayward tech suggested - may sure everything is cleaned out. It is being practiced by thousands of pool owners just like you.

Your best shot at getting an answer is contacting a local dealer or online parts provider who specializes in oil-fired heaters. If unsure, please refer to the heaters manual for the recommended chemical levels. do i have to change my LED panel or the board itself inside?? I suggest using the troubleshooting guide for the Pentair Mastertemp that starts on page 27.

A dirty filter can prevent a heater from firing and it can also cause your heater to shut off before warming the water to the desired temperature. Im lucky there was a perfect spot for the piano, and its not close to the windows. I have a Hayward Easy Temp heater. I replaced the temperature sensor and the circuit board. If no power, replace the board. Your pool pump only moves a certain number of GPMs, therefore, too many water features can dramatically decrease your water flow. No cracks. Any suggestions?
I run the heater and this time it did something different. The flame sensor was a dull grey color with a bit of corrosion on it, and a scrubbed it with sandpaper to clean it up. What can cause this. The "techs" in my area are few and far between and our experiences with the ones that do service this area are less than desired. no leaking going on at all. The sterilizing chemicals will bleach out your swimwear and towels. Or, maybe your heater isnt generating heat at all. Was told maybe the control board was bad ?,any thoughts. There are other factors that can actively contribute to your heaters ON and OFF cycles. I have a Hayward Titanium Heat pro model HP21104t model heat pump. Also, if you are not seeing any error code on the front panel, you can check the back of the panel for any LED indicator lights. I would rip up all the carpet and the builder-grade tile and replace with wood-look porcelain tile. Verify that the local gas valve, located outside the heater and all valves supplying gas to the heater are open. Water flow is fine. Water has always been in tip top shape.
