Contrary to all comments about scent, I have written the Kristen Ess company several times to see if they sell a perfume because the scent is divine. Once Ive blow dried my hair there is no sign of it looking weighed down, just smooth, soft and moisturised. I tried a few things from the line, as I follow and LOVE her instagram account. Its a good product and many people swear by it, but I intensely dislike the fragrance of it. I, too, disliked the overwhelmingly strong scents. One of the things I love most about these products is the fragrance! What I wasnt expecting was the subtleness of the fragrance what a pleasant surprise! It's one of the most commonly used thickeners and emulsion stabilizers. Comes from coconut oil and glycerin, its light-textured, clear, odorless and non-greasy. To me, the leave in conditioner is the biggest game changer. It isused as a helper ingredientfor itsgelling, thickening and stabilizing properties.
I will say that the thickening/volume spray has a strange smell to it as it goes on (alcohol maybe? There is also some research showing that citric acid with regular use (think three monthsand 20% concentration) can help sun-damaged skin, increase skin thickness and some nice hydrating things called glycosaminoglycans in the skin.
