It was certainly good, if a little pricey, I have bought cheaper ones, but you tend to get what you pay for as the cheaper ones have plastic compasses and grips that are a little fragile, but the one I tried was useable. I have a suede hand made bag about 7" x 5" filled loosely with polyester beads and this sits in my camera bag on top of the camera to protect it - I just squish it around the camera when I pack it away and as I always keep a Cullmann quick release plate on the base of the camera for use with my shoulder pod, it makes standing the camera unstable, so I lift the bean bag out, put the camera on it so it provides additional protection there as well.
