What I like about the Nikon Prostaff is that it comes in a 4x32mm rimfire version that perfectly fits your application. I purchased the NIKON 4-12X40 rifle scope and it is a high quality extremely accurate optics. I'm not going to spend $500 on something that I could get for $200. I have a leupold and a nikon both, and in my opinion the leupolds are nicer scopes, but you end up paying more. I already owned this scope before I bought my next on from Amazon. For under $200 I would go for a Nikon Pro Staff. I have long been a Leupold user and probably have a little bias, but those who report on this scope have given it high marks. I got a second banner 3-9 and to my suprise (disgust) this one had similar problems like the first. I believe the Rifleman uses the VX-1 style of friction adjustments. This model is no different. We look forward to serving you in the best possible way. The savage I'm mounting this on is a stainless bull barrel that did not come with irons.
